How do you know if your guinea pig has aspirated something? My boy has had weird poo the past few days even with benebac so my vet suggested mixing a healthy poo from anothe rpig with some water to syringe feed it to help introduce good bacteria although I don’t think I’ll ever do this again lol cause he started coughing after I might’ve done it too quick. No gurgling noises or anything just a few coughs like 10 min ago and nothing since. I’m very worried 😢

@Snugglycavy Aspiration leads to trouble in their airways. They can struggle to breathe and their breathing sounds awful.

I would imagine he coughed because it tasted gross. Try giving him a smaller amount at a time if you need to syringe anything again.

Just keep an eye on him but he sounds like he'll be okay.

Try giving him some veg that he loves and listen to his breathing. If you're worried then you could pop back to the vet with him.
