Possible broken toe

Has anyone had experience with a guinea pig with a broken toe?

Noticed just over a week ago Skye had a slightly inflamed and swollen toe (front right second toe in from the right), not really all that noticeable. Also she wasn't walking differently on it or holding it up and when you touched it she didn't try to nip as if if was sore. We took her to the vets anyway where they said it was possible ligament damage or a broken toe. Not much can be really done. The vet put her paw in a bandage and was given Loxicom to give daily to her. Went back last night took the bandage off (yes she had kept it on for a week) and her whole paw is inflamed and swollen now. She is walking on it but now with a limp and is rather protective of it. The bandage is staying off this week to see if there is any improvement we have also put her in a smaller cage (for R&R) by herself so she not running about or playing. We have to go back next week but not sure what the prognosis will be. Skye is still on Loxicom for this week too.

Yes. Toots has a back toe stuck out at a weird angle. I took her straight to the vets when it happened but as it didn't seem to be causing her any discomfort, an xray wasn't considered necessary. We don't, therefore, know if it was ligament damage or broken. It's remained stuck out at an odd angle but as it was months ago that the injury occured, it's clearly healed but causes no issues for her.

ETA - Toots was also on Metacam for a week and the toe was very swollen but the swelling eventually went.

Yes, Mousey hurt her toe a few weeks ago. She got startled when her claw stuck in some vet bed & tried to get away. She was in pain afterwards eg not putting pressure on it & sometimes holding it off the ground. I took her to the vet who prescribed Metacam for pain but didn't think it necessary to x-ray it. A few days later her claw wasn't there & after about 10 weeks hasn't grown back. It's not causing her any pain now & she's managing fine with just 3 claws on her right front foot. So if the claw drops off don't be too worried, Mousey is fine without it.

How do you mean claw? Paw, toe or the nail?
 
Nail, the bit you clip. Where it started at the toe is just a gnarly stump now. I've squeezed round that area gently & she's in no pain but she was just after she'd originally hurt it. The vet said that it may grow back.

A few years ago I dropped a door on my big toe & the nail dropped off. It grew back a few weeks later, I thought it might work the same with her but I don't think Mosey's nail will grow back now. I'll update later if it does.
