Hi,
I am VERY new here and looking for some advice.
Me and my Girlfriend bought 2 Guineas (Sisters; Maybelle & Sallie) around 6 months ago.
They were very shy to begin with but after a week or so of being in a new home and new surroundings, they came out of their shell's a little bit.
We cared for them, fed them regular and had them in a play pen with different toys almost every day.
********Skip to the next lot of starts if squemish**********
Around 3-4 Months ago, Maybelle died.
It was not long after we had changed cages (To a bigger, wider one)
I was awake late one night and only saw Sallie outside of the home which was odd as they were ALWAYS attached to each other.
I had to take off the top of the cage as it was one of those cages where the bars hold the house in place.
Maybelle was there, lifeless.
She was missing fur from one part of her face and one eye was missing.
THIS OBVIOUSLY WASNT WHAT I WAS EXPECTING TO SEE.
Oddly, there was no blood or anything.
Previous to this, there was NO fighting, not even little squabbles between them.

Long Story short - Maybelle died
.

We put Sallie into the old cage and kept a constant eye on her.
We think that she died possibly to stress from moving.
After seeking advice, this was almost 90% the case. (We think she may have been poorly but were told otherwise)
Sallie seemed perfectly fine in the sense that when she was alone in the old cage alone, she was still eating Nuggets and drinking Water.
We then went and adopted Peaches.
We were advised to leave them seperated for the first 24/48 hours and slowly introduce them over a week or 2 before housing them together.
We did the above and all went well until recently.
Sallie has started to seemingly Bully Peaches to the point of Peaches retreating up the ramp to the top tier and is scared to go down.
If Peaches even so much as sets foot on the bottom tier, Sallie comes out and chases her back upstairs after a couple of seconds.
This was happening for the past 2 days.
I did a FULL cleanout tonight and weirdly, the 2 are back, eating and playing together.
Is this a scent dominance thing?
Why the weird behaviour?
Seems odd that after i have cleaned them out fully, they are back to normal (For Now)
I say that because its only been 20 mins.
Is it best to seperate and slowly intoduce them again if the bullying continues?
Any Help is Apprecicated!
Thanks,
Aaron.
