Possible Cysts On Ovaries

Hi

I have just been cutting my female g pigs nails and have noticed that the hair on her sides has started to go very thin and her nipples are enlarged. I have had a look on the internet and it sounds like it could be that she has a cyst on her ovaries, I was just wondering if any body recognises these symptoms? And if so how urgent I need to get her to a vet and what types of treatment people have found to be effective.

I live in the uk and the g pig is just over 2 years old.

Hi!

It sounds like ovarian cysts. Please have her seen by a piggy savvy vet. There are now much less intrusive treatments available than a full spay, like hormone treatment or draining the cysts. It is not an emergency, but please don't wait too long to have her seen, either. Many vets will agree to a payment plan.
