image.webp image.webp I'm not sure if Guinea pigs get waxy ears or if this is a infection of some kind but Anna's ears look abit pussy to me. When I brought her home at 3 months old she had one, he head tilted to one side but there was no puss in the ear and she was still eating, so I only knew because of the tilt and I took her to the vets and he gave some antibiotics so maybe she is prone to ear problems or I'm being paranoid, she has no other symptoms just pussy ears as shown in the pictures. I've checked my other 4 girls and their ears are absolutely fine. Sorry about the state of the pictures she wouldn't stay still haha

How is she in herself? Is the head tilt back? Is she scratching the ear or shaking her head?

It could just me normal ear debri, but if it seems pus like i would definately have it checked over by the vet.

My 5 year old and 7 year old sow both have debri in their ears, but its dark brown and i imagine just dirt. The ear canal itself is clear, and the debri is more just on the skin than clogging the ear. I have never cleaned a piggies ears and have never had any ear infections with any of them, so i just leave them well alone.

All the best x

Guinea pigs can get waxy ears, but the wax is always the same colour as the skin. this doesn;t look waxy to me. Please have her checked by your vet again. She may have an infection that keeps coming back. perhaps your vet could try a different antibiotic to see whether it works better?

Thanks for your replies I took her to the vet today and she has really inflamed ears so she's been giving a weeks worth of antibiotics, I'm glad I'm overly cautious haha
