Hi all,

I've decided to improve my veggie feeding schedule, and this is what I have come up with after looking at the guides on here. Is this suitable? If there's any changes I should make, please let me know, it would be much appreciated. We can't get spring greens in Australia, so I substituted with a small amount of kale instead 🙂

I'm not an expert, but in general it looks ok to me. Nice variety and lots of vitamin C. The only thing that jumps out at me is parsley and kale I believe are both higher in calcium. So maybe pick one or the other and only feed your choice once per week. Also, I don't know what the recommended frequency for broccoli (brassicas) is. I personally don't feed it every week.

Thanks! I just didn't want too feed coriander every day. Is there another herb that I can incorporate instead? Also, on one of the guides, it says you can feed spring greens daily or a pinch of kale. I don't know exactly what that means, but I'd assume just one leaf between the three of them? You can apparently feed broccoli 2-3 times per week (in small amounts). I don't know how accurate this is, but I've never has a problem with broccoli. Thanks for your help 👍

I've taken out the parsley (would like to know other herb options that can be fed 1-2 times a week for variety), and broccoli is only fed once per week.

I'm not sure about all your questions, but I do know that coriander is safe to feed daily. Hopefully, more experienced members will be along soon to answer more of your questions.

Cut kale down to once a week only, and a small amount. And I’d go easy on broccoli as well. You could add in a green bean every day. And then swap other veg around. I think spring greens may be a little high in calcium so possibly not suitable to feed daily either…not sure on that one though…mine get the staples and no more. They’ll sometimes get carrot peel or a grape but that’s it. Just remembered, you could also give them cucumber daily as well.

Okay, thank you, will do 👍

After my rescue piggy passed a huge stone, was in immmense pain with it and had a raging UTI at the same time I don't give anything too high in calcium now. I have cut out all brocolli, kale, cauliflower, spring greens, celery and anything else that's high in calcium. I give my 3 lettuce (not iceburg), pepper, coriander and cucumber daily and add in green beans and aubergine (egg plant) to add a bit of variety.

It's great to think about variety and personally I love making schedules, but most piggies leap on their veg like they've not eaten for weeks, whether it's the same veg they've had for days. A little blueberry or strawberry top or sliver of banana once a week can add interest. Buying good quality hay is treating them.
