Will take our guinea pig to the vet I think tomorrow for a check up on this, just released she has perhaps a growth or patch on side of her face.

anyone recognize this from the picture of Sally?

can't be certain, as hair hides the patch, but it looks like an abcess that has burst and then healed over. A vet visit will possibly comfirm this.

Hmm, it could be fungal, or it could be a sore that has scabbed over. Best option is to get the vet to have a look. They should be able to tell you.

Hope it clears up quickly.

That looks like a potential fungal patch; the fungal can cause crusty exudations. Good that you are having it checked by a vet.

Please be very careful; some fungal complaints like ringworm can be transmitted to humans and other mammal pets. Use good hygiene and an antifungal disinfectant like F10 (I also use F10 handgel after handling a ringworm piggy). You may have to separate if you have more than two piggies and treat all the others with a repeated antifungal bath, too, as a preventative. I use imaverol dip for ringworm as it is very good at getting to the roots of the infected hairs on top of using a fungal cream. You will find that fungal will always get worse before it gets better as the area around a fungal patch is also infected and the hair needs to come out.
