My 7 year old guinea pig has had a possible stroke/ seizure he was lying on his back and thrusting his head I thought hey may have been choking so I shoved him finger to the back of his throat this stopped the seizure I think as he returned to himself after a few moments eating drinking etc however the cause could be many cause he was out and about yesterday and could've ingested something but he could have choked because he was eating carrots I was wondering if anyone could diagnose it for me as I am getting an appointment tomorrow

He does not appear to have any hair loss so I do not assume it is mites etc

Seizures are hard to diagnose so taking him to the vet is te best decision.

If he does seize in future please don't stick your finger down his throat. Guinea pigs are unable to vomit so if you do push something down you could cause him to choke or strangle from lack of air getting to his lungs.
