Poor Messy is very itchy, with some hair loss and scaly, dandruffy bald patches. She saw the vet yesterday, who thinks it's a case of mites and gave her a first dose of Xeno 450, with the next dose to be given by me in two weeks. My questions are, how long should it be until her symptoms show signs of relief, and is there anything else I can do to help her? She's eating and drinking well, but I can tell the itchiness is annoying her.

I'm hot washing the fleeces and everything today, and the other pigs have also been treated, though they are all still symptom-free at the moment. Thanks in advance for any advice. :)

@arcticfox34 You could ask the vet for some Metacam as that may help with the itchiness.

Many year ago only of my pigs had a terrible time with mites. He just couldn't stop scratching. I spoke to Gorgeous Guineas who recommended trying their aloe vera gel. I had a quick word with the vet and they were happy for me to try it. It really helped sooth his itching. You could ask your vet about trying something like that, or they may have some suggestions.

You're very welcome. It's a vicious cycle if they can't stop scratching because of the itchiness. I hope Messy feels better soon.
