My daughters rehomed guinea pigs were treated for mites at bluecross before she got them. She's had them 2 weeks and says they are scratching a lot. She has tried to get in touch with bluecross about it, but they aren't getting back to her. If they have static mites (which I believe are most common) has anyone got a suggested treatment? Thanks

If they have mites and to be honest mites can reappear with stress like a home move then one treatment won't be enough as it doesn't kill the eggs. It also depends on what product the blue cross used as many over the counter products aren't strong enough to combat a problem. I would recommend visiting a vet for a firm diagnosis and if they confirm mites then an appropriate strength product can be prescribed to be used 2-3 times one week apart each time to ensure any hatching mites are dealt with too
