Has anyone ever had a poorly pig after treating with Ivermectin.? I have 3 sows, all born on the 19th of april, making them just over 12 weeks. They were all treated with 1 drop of Ivermectin 0.8% last tuesday and again this tuesday. One of them has become very lethargic, she is eating and drinking really well which is why I cannot understand why she is also loosing wieght. She is now only 280g. Her sisters are around 480. She also has loose droppings. Could this be a reaction?

Ivomec is not recommended for pigs under six months, it can affect the nervous system with unfortunate results.
I do not know whether or not one drop will have an adverse effect on pigs that are three months old.
There is no antidote for Ivomec.
Why was it necessary to give them Ivomec?

They had running lice, it's what the vet gave me. It does say safe for guinea pigs over 12 weeks of age.
