can any one help. This is my first post. I have a 4.5 year old female guinea pig who last night we suspect had a stroke. We feed her last night about 8.00, when we went to make sure she was ok around 9.00 to put her lamp on she was laying on her side very still. My son picked her up and put her on his bed and she just flopped over to her right and could not stand or control her self.
We rushed her to the out of hours vets. On the way she seemed to get worse as she was rolling over on to her back. The vet assessed her and said she may have had a stroke or had meningitis. At one point the vet suggested to call it a day. NEVER. We agreed to have 4 injection and work on the fact it was a stroke. We brought her home and settled her down with all her own blackest and left food very close to her. My son and I agreed to take turns to get up through the night to keep an eye on her. This morning she is squeaking for food , up on all fours as there is nothing a matter. From an early age she developed lumps, had one removed from under her throat, and has one the size of a golf ball under her stomach. Vet advised as long as she eats and drinks, leave alone.
My question is has anyone experienced this or can shed any light what happen to my beautiful baby girl.
