I’ve currently got 4 girls but I was contacted today by someone wanting to give up their guinea pig, a little baby boy. If I take him in, I want to get him neutered and introduce him to my girls.
What size C&C cage would I need for 4 sows and 1 boar ?

It would need to be a 7x2 or bigger.

Before he is old enough to be neutered and the six week wait post surgery, he needs to be in a very secure (so he cant climb out and get in with the girls) 120x60cm at a minimum cage next to the girls for interaction through the bars.

Thanks. Is there an age requirement for neutering? I wasn’t aware of that. None of my previous boys were neutered as they weren’t in a mixed group. All I know about this pig is that it’s a baby. Probably a few months old.

Neutering is four months or older, once the testicles have descended. Please remember to book him a vet visit a week after he’s been home with you 😚

:agr: You will need a vet to carry out a check on him and see when his testicles descend. Once they descend he can be neutered, which is usually around four months of age onwardsd.
