I am so confused, cinnamon this morning was coughing, sneezing and wheezing when I picked her up but now seems fine. Is it possible it was a once occurence or does she have the beginning of a uri. Thx

Hi! It was likely a one off after something went down the wrong way and also back up into the nose.
A one-off coughing and sneezing fit are just the body's way of removing irritants from the narrow airways, whether that is hay dust/pollen, air from eating too greedily, greedy drinking or a bit of food going down the wrong way.

Bacterial guinea pig URI is NOT like a viral human cold; it doesn't typically start with sneezing and wheezing but with raspy or crackly breathing that goes downhill from there fairly quickly with loss of appetite (as the need to breathe comes before the need to eat), clicking breathing and heaving sides if it goes into the lungs (pneumonia) and apathy in the last stages. Sneezing is only a symptom if your piggy sneezes regularly every few minutes for hours on end.
Gunky eyes and nose (greenish/yellowish mucus), are symptoms of a well advanced upper respiratory tract infection. Steady coughing is also a symptom of an advanced untreated URI.
All these symptoms usually don't present just isolated or for a short time.
