Hi! I have a six year old guinea pig named Daisy. I have read many forum posts throughout the time I have had her, but never posted myself. I recently took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with a uti. She is currently on Bactrim 0.65 ml every 12 hours. I have seen some green in her nose a couple times, but I am not sure if it is hay dust. She is eating and drinking well. She is also active. I plan on taking her back to the vet on Tuesday to get another urine analysis done, but I do not know if I should take her before to check for a URI. Due to the current situation with Corona virus I am trying to avoid travel. Please give me any advice you can. Thank you!

We are not able to say what it is likely to be, often illnesses start with inconsistent and/or unclear symptoms. Do speak to the vet if you are concerned about her though. Watch out for any other signs of a uri, weigh her daily to ensure she is eating enough hay and step in with syringe feeding if she isn’t eating well and loses weight.
