My little Capy has been wheezing when he's asleep. Both my boys sneeze periodically but Capy has been sneezing out bogies sometimes. I've never seen this happen but my bf has and usually he just wipes them on his paw/eats them. He has been a little off lately but I wasn't sure if it was just one of those days - he's not been off his food, he's certainly been active although he's never really been as crazy as his bro but he has been looking a bit more "puffed up" which I've read can be a sign something's wrong.

I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow so hopefully he will be able to see what it is. I know there isn't much I can do between now and 5.10 tomorrow but I'm stressing out. As with most things, I'm thinking the worst :(

Hi, I hope your little Capy is ok. It does sound like it might be a URI. Are you seeing Kevin tomorrow? If so, he'll probably give you Septrin first if he agrees its a URI. If that doesn't work, ask him for Zith-romax. He's used it with my piggies before, so he'll be happy to give you it.

Hi Cat, thanks for the support. Yeah, I'm seeing Kevin tomorrow. It's reassuring to know he's helped you before but you know what like, can't help but be a little stressed :)

How did you administer the meds? Luckily Capy is the one who is the easiest to handle if I need to hold him.

Yeah, its only natural to feel like that.

For both meds I administered them using a 1ml syringe. Remember and give him probiotics as well. If you need any help, just give me a shout xx

Hi Cat
Just to let you know Capy got on fine at with Kevin. He thinks it might be a URI as he was wheezy in the chest but not really in the nose area. Took a while to wait til he'd stop wheeking, little toot, because he couldn't hear him through the stethoscope.
He's given me Septrin & Metacam for a course of 8 days to see how he gets on. It had been a while since he had given out Septrin so he had to check another customer's record. I asked if it was by any chance a lady who had two of her guineas neutered recently and it turned out that it WAS you :)

Anyway, everybody's home now and a lot of the stress is now gone. My bf was very impressed with Kevin compared to the other vets we had visited. Thanks again for the recommendation.xx>>>

Aww bless him, poor wee toot.

Haha, I'm so not surprised it was my record he pulled up! My piggies have become like a reference point for him lol.

He is a great vet, so glad I found him.

Hope Capy gets better really soon xx

Thanks, I'll keep you posted. He took his medicine like a champ tonight and now he and Moose are popcorning all over the place. :) Phew.
How are your boys doing?
