Possibly Getting A New Guinea Pig

I went to the pet store today to get a bale of hay and they are pretty certain that she shouldn't be pregnant but they couldn't give me a date that they separated the male so that's annoying. If she is pregnant will she gain normal weight until she starts showing she is pregnant ie pear shaped and then begin to gain more weight or will it be more gradual than that?
It varies, its not an exact science! As l said before the only way to be sure is to wait 10 weeks from when she was definitely with a boar. If she starts to look a pregnant shape you could take her to your vet for an examination, but even that is not 100% reliable, sometimes, most times, you just have to wait. It can seem endless!

Okay, thank you for all the help. I will keep you updated :)

What have you called you newbie guinea pig @orangeinepig .
You are welcome to the snugglesacks. They are good to use even if your guinea pig is not pregnant.
Just pm me details of where you want them sent when you are ready for them.
She still doesn't have a name yet as I can't think of one that would suit her and I will shed my address info soon.

Just sorted the pigs out with fresh veggies, hay and pellets and have also weighed them. Newbie (still no name) weighs 624 grams and Popcorn weighs 1037 grams however I have been gradually cutting down to about 200 grams of veggies a day between them (popcorn used to eat a lot due to keeping her warmer in winter by herself so this could be why she has lost a fair amount of weight since last week) so I will update next Saturday with their weights again :).

That sounds just fine

Nice to have an update on both your guinea pigs @orangeinepig . Are you happy the way things are going between them.
Yeah I am quite happy, they seem to be quite content with each other and I was rustling hay from their hay bale today and they were poocorning about which was very funny. I forgot to ask my parents about the snugglesacks as I had mock exams going on but I will definitely ask them this weekend and then send my address :).

It's good they are getting on. There's nothing better than a happy pair of guinea pigs.
The snugglesacks are here and waiting for when you want them. If you decide they are not necessary - that's not a problem. But they can be useful to have.

Well I'm a bit shocked by my discovery but little pig has 4 nipples and she now also weighs 663 grams (I only got around to weighing her today.) Popcorn weighs 1114 grams (little fatty) so I'm not sure if little pig's weight gain is normal or not but I will keep an eye on her.

Yes keep an eye on her weight, that's quite a jump but still could be normal weight gain now she has settled in

I thought that it was quite a large increase but I'll be more concerned if she gains more this week as from what I've read and what you have told me is that they gain weight in the later weeks of their pregnancy. I've tried feeling her belly but I can't tell if there is anything moving inside or not as she breathes fairly deeply when being handled.
