I think A couple of my piggies may be starting to get spurs on their front feet, I am not sure If I am being paranoid but their feet are defo changing shape at the heel, I havnt managed to get pictures yet but will post as soon as I can, I am just wondering is there any thing I can do now to try and prevent them before they grow to big? my boys don't like their nails cut too much (cutting their nails is how I have noticed the changes) I Don't want to have to cut the spurs too if I can help it or take action now to prevent it. many thanks

I am not sure if you can really prevent them forming, but if they grow too big you may need to look at getting them cut off in case they start to catch on something. Even if the vet does it.

This link does mention that genetics, activity level and husbandry can contribute though.

Rosie has always had spurs and none of the others do. I trim them regularly with cuticle trimmers. Yoshi used to have mini spurs forrming but not big enough to trim. I found that Kwench lotion by GGs kept his in check.
