Hello all, our sweet honey had a dental today at cat and rabbit clinic. She didn’t need any sedation as she was so good and has been a very poorly girl so Simon didn’t feel sedation was right today as she’s lost so much weight and had such a rough time. She’s making progress but is so so sad this evening. I presume her mouth will be sore. She did have some lacerations unfortunately :(
Last time she was under GA for her dental and perked up really quickly but was in a better state before the dental compared to this time. She’s taking her critical care with banana and is taking soft fruits bless her but doesn’t want grass or leaves yet. But hasn’t been able to eat anything like that for a week and has been fully reliant on syringe feeds. Does anyone have any experience on how long until she should start eating a bit better and feel a bit more comfortable. She is so subdued and sad despite not having any sedation compared to how she was this morning, but I know her mouth must be sore and feel so strange as she had become used to the dental issue there before. Any advice on how to get her back on greens when she’s refusing them and only taking fruit?
Thank you I’m advance I’m a worried mess and want to make sure I’m doing everything right ❤️

I am sorry your piggy is not doing so well this time after her dental. I've not had a dental piggy so cannot advise you but hope a health expert will be along soon.
Sending your girl healing vibes.

Hi there, I seen you very first post I think back in May. How has she been since then?
It’s strange you are still syringe feeding many months later or has something else happened since?

How much weight has she lost since May?
Did Simon say something else could potentially be wrong? So sorry to hear she still isn’t back to her normal self 😢
Usually after dentals it only takes a few days or so for them to start eating normally again.
