Hi,

I am a total newbie....

Do you do the nail clipping yourself and often.....I have read about it etc and was unsure if to do it myself or get a vet too.

I do it myself and always have done, but you have to be confident about it and know what your doing. It's best probably to get your vet to show you how first and read up on tutorials online as well to give you a good grounding for starting.

Yeah I have seen video's etc on you tube......at the moment they are only babies so a little skitty and 1 has black nails. I am hoping in time to come the patio will act as a nail file...lol

It does depend on what they walk on all day, my piggies in winter are fleece so they have to be trimmed more regularly. I find starting babies young gets then used to the process better, even if its just the very very tips of the nails.

I don't use pet clippers I find then too cumbersome and not accurate enough. I use a pointed edge toe clipper out of a manicure set. Normal clippers do work dont get my wrong but I don't have a steady hand and find the one's I used easier.

I do the same as you, a manicure set.

The tool I use it so much better than a standard nail clipper.
