So I’ve just got Pablo back from the vets and he is now officially neutered. They said he was super chill and he is toileting no problem.

However they did mention that he’s not eating, so naturally I asked if I would get syringes, they said to wait until tomorrow and if he’s still not eating ring them and bring him in, which is fair enough as the vets is literally two minutes away.

The people there were so nice and they’d apparently had him on a heat pad wrapped in a towel all day which made me laugh. The girl behind the desk was very cavvy savvy and even said she’d had Guinea pigs of her own neutered and gave us the numbers of some local rescues.

All in all it’s been really great and I’ll ask about anything else that I’m unsure of if anything happens.

I wouldn't wait until tomorrow if he's not eating. Piggies need to eat all the time. They are eating machines! He could just be drowsy from the anaesthetic which is making him too sleepy to eat. My boys came back after their neutering operation and they were eating as soon as I got them home. Try to tempt him get his appetite back with some of his fave foods. Hope he's back to his normal self soon!

He is really drowsy, he’s just fallen asleep which is adorable, yeha if he’s not eating within a few hours I’ll whip out a syringe. Thanks!

@Betsy Just waved a bit of fennel in front of his face and he took a bite, hopefully he’s just a bit drowsy.
That's all it is then hopefully. It took Dennis and Christian around 24 hours to fully wake up. Hopefully he'll start eating properly soon. Is there hay in with him and pellets?

Yep and I’ve boiled and cooked the water that’s in his bottle, thanks for all your advice.

Wow aha, I just went upstairs to find Pablo scoffing his veggies so all is well, phew !
Thats great news! He's obviously woken up enough to eat now:drool::drool: Only a 6 week wait now before he has some wifelets!:love: that is round about 25th May so not long!

I’m so excited, he’ll be absolutely over the moon when he has his girlies!
He will be completely delighted. Dennis and Christian love sharing their 3 wifelets! I know its a miracle that they don't fight over the girlies and all 5 live as one happy family! Dennis, Christian and Meg are the result of a surprise shop litter.

That’s amazing, I would have thought there’d be piggy world war with two boys and girls, you’re so lucky!

I know so did I. Velvet the dominant sow takes no cr*p from anybody and keeps everyone in order. Velvet is one feisty lady! Also I think it must help that the boys have been around sow pheromones all their lives so know no different. It is a complete miracle that they all get on and are really close. They all love each other and everyone will snuggle up with everyone.
