Self Isolation Posyrose self isolating forum

I'm sorry that you're having a difficult time too, but in a way I feel better knowing that it's not just me. I'm impressed that you are being so busy, especially learning Hungarian....why Hungarian?

I was really happy to speak to two of my neighbours in person this morning. When the weather's nice we often have a neighbourly meeting and it was nice to do so at the appropriate distance.

I also managed to finish some work off this morning but haven't done the next piece that needs doing. My neighbour dropped off a couple of crosswords from his paper that we do together and compare notes, which I love and I spoke to my sister in Australia.

The weather's not brilliant but it's lovely seeing the piggies in their run getting used to being outside again.

So I'm doing ok but must get a little more work done every day.
Hungarian because my dad was Hungarian but we never learned in our family and he died in my teens. My daughter who is 13 is learning too. I'd love to go there one day, although the bit he came from is actually in Romania since WW1 (hey there's another thing I could do, eh? Research some of that history.)

I do crosswords too but I only manage about half the clues!

Great that you spoke to your sister. And well done for completing your work!

My father's family were German and Swiss and even my dad couldn't speak German and neither can I, so well done.

I need to buckle down to more work....hopefully I'll feel less anxious tomorrow.

Hello. Basically I am doing well. If the weather has been good enough I have conversed with my neighbours outside at a distance of about 3m. I had a coffee in the garden first thing (with a guinea pig that my neighbour spoiled by bringing a huge strawberry). I also did some cleaning, which is unlike me, but necessary to keep surfaces clean.

Then I had some much needed conversation with my sister in Australia, where they think that restrictions will be in place for 6 months, and shared pictures of my spring garden flowers.

I did a couple of hours work and a good friend called and we had a good chat about the work we have and the other work that has fallen by the wayside. I'm self employed.

Basically I have done 2 or 3 hours work and should have done 5 to 6. Can t feel too bad in the circumstances though.

Thanks everyone. I have a kitchen full of food that I've sprayed with F10 at a serious virus slaying dilution.

People think I'm being way too careful. Hopefully Boris might have shown some how careful we need to be.

After what I heard yesterday on the radio (From a doctor, I might add) about the virus surviving on items in the fridge and even the freezer I think applying anti-bac to all shopping items is the order of the day

I’m glad you are staying positive.

Hi @Posyrose just checking in on you.... Not been on the forum loads as kids are off and i have been busy with all the washing my teenage daughter seems to be making! To say she isn't allowed out - the washing pile does not reflect this at all!

It's been a lovely day here in Nottingham, blue skies and sunny - good for getting all the washing dry!

Take care x

Hi Vicki - hope you are well! I have been wiping all the the shopping with anti-bac wipes when i get home, it stays in the bags until i wipe it then it gets put away... running low on wipes now though so luckily I have a large bottle of F10 I can make some spray up and use that with some kitchen roll or a cloth.... xx

@artcasper @VickiA thanks for the support and making me feel justified in using F10 liberally at high concentrations for 'incoming food'.

Now....do you have any tips for cracking on with challenging and boring work that i would normally do in the local library, but of course that's c!osed!

there are so many distractions ..many of them small furry and wheeky!

I've been thinking a bit about learning Korean although it would be very difficult so would really have to push myself. Its only cos I love Korean pop. Hope you're doing OK today. I had a couple of bad days, especially at night when trying to sleep but feeling OK at the moment xx
Omg I thought I was the only who loves Korean pop, my family think I'm mad lol

What work do you do? I'm working from home and keeping to my normal work hours which I find helps me be more strict with getting everything done.

I’m also working from home and find that just sticking to my normal work routine helps in terms of getting up and showered and dressed as normal, being at my desk at the usual time but minus the commute. Plus I have several conference calls a day to help keep me focused. But time can drag.

I am really missing WORK! I am on furlough for 12 weeks so my daily routine is non existent now! Try and just get up and have a set time for working, it does help.. before furlough I used to work 9-3 ish from home ...

So glad you are all staying safe. The tips on here are great and have really helped, thanks everyone. Spending my days crafting and trying to stay calm.x

Hi everyone, I had several high points to the day. I managed to throw enough abuse and more moderate exhaultation to a lorry driver that season course to chop off a low hanging cherry branch originating in my garden. He was friendly and apologetic, as was I.

Some friends called too and I exchanged texts with my sister in Australia.

I'm not very well. But at least I know that there are lots of people out there, not least all of you wonderful piggie people, who care

And we do care. Hopefully this won't go on too long. I video called my mum later and she's on her own (luckily with her dog too so not completely alone) and she was saying how upset she has been getting. My brother dropped some shopping off for her at a distance and she cried not being able to talk to him properly. Then today she got upset not being able to visit us yet. It's so hard
