Do you mean when sleeping on their belly? Piggies are either belly floppers or 'sausages on a grill' (when they sleep on their side); it is often a matter of personal preference. it is always a good sign to see a relaxed piggy sleep in the open or plonk down when eating.
My daughter calls the guinea pigs "small potato children." I think it is just the general shape of a lazy guinea pig laying down with their feet tucked under.
Edited to add that my daughter also calls our hamsters "small orb children" because they tend to roll into a ball to sleep (at least that's why I think she came up with it... it's hard to tell with that one sometimes!)
I think the potato-shape observation is pretty much universal for guinea pigs, I have seen memes of them posing as baked potatoes and references to renaming them as 'fur potatoes' if we wanted to more accurately name animals according to what they look like. So I definitely don't think you're the first to notice!
