I have a fairly odd question that needs asking :^-
I have two male guinea pigs and recently added a young female (about 3 months) to the family.
She has her own cage and lives separate to the two males but when they have play time they're allowed to run around together while being supervised. One of the males has shown alot of interest in the female and often runs around after her trying to mount her. After picking her up a few days ago I have the sneaking suspicion that she's pregnant.
Here's the weird bit, is it possible that she could have gotten pregnant from walking in something the male left behind when he was excited?
I don't know if it's possible but she has been drinking alot and her belly feels large and lumpy?

if shes been with the males than it sounds more than likely that she'll be pregnant =/

If they are having floor time together then its highly possible, play time together kind of says it all really, it only takes a split second!

I hope she isn't for her sake only being 3 month old :(

How long have you had her? Is it possible she could have ben pregnant when you got her?

If she's in season (every 15-17 days for a few hours), it only takes a second!
And no, she cannot get pregnant by walking through sperm, but one of the "tries" to mount may have been more successful than you thought.

Here is a link to advice about pregnancy (also read faqs and labor):

The first signs of a 10 week pregnancy are increased weight and increased thirst. At one point, her nipples will elongate and look slightly swollen.

If you are in doubt, make sure that your girl is getting extra vitamin C by feeding her vit. C veg, like peppers of all colours, broccoli, parsley.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.
My males have never been allowed to mount her, the closest they have ever gotten was to sniffing her bottom and I only allowed that to try and let them adjust to her being around. I was secretly hoping that it was a territorial thing that was bothering the male and that he would get over having a female near his territory.
As far as I know she was eight weeks old when I got her which would make her just over 3 months now. I don't know what sex the guinea pigs she was kept with in the pet shop were.
Hopefully she isn't pregnant, for her sake. I do hope to breed my pigs in the future but definitely not this young. I guess I can only look out for pregnancy signs now :(
