I'm 11 weeks and my husband was spraying out the guinea pig cage. I bent down and got splashed in the eye. Whats the likelihood U could contract LCMV? What should I do?

The possibility is pretty remote; just rinse your eye and keep your distance from now on during cage cleans.
We have so far never come across or heard of a case connected to guinea pigs - and it would make the rounds!
Thank you, I had a mask and gloves on trying to be cautious but I didn't think about the water splashing me in the eye! We have had our two pigs for over a year and no one has gotten sick from them. We are usually pretty careful. Ofcouse the first thing I did was Google and read how guinea pigs can transmit LCMV. I'm still nervous but will keep a look out for any symptoms and hope for the best!
Has anyone else on here accidentally came into contact with soiled bedding and been ok? I'm not concerned about handling them or cleaning cages, just that some of the urine/poop may have gotten in my eye. Has this happened to anyone else?
