My new boy Henry is booked in for his operation on Tuesday...eeek! I have read through the neutering threads but was wondering if there was anything I could do over the next week to help his wee body prepare for the surgery?

Sorry, probably a stupid question mallethead but this is my first GP operation and I'm a bit scared :red

Aww, I know the feeling! Just let him carry on as normal, ensure he's eating and drinking normally etc. - nothing else to do really if he's fit and well. :)

Query..

At what age can males be neutered? My Logan is three months and i want to get it done asap so I can get him a girlfriend

Hope his operation went well, do they recover quickly?

Wait til around 5 to 6 months. If the boar has - and excuse the way I say this - dropped testicles and they can be located and felt - then he will be a suitable candidate for neuter.

3 months is too young yet.

The most common age is 6 months plus. I have had a boar neutered at 3-4 months without problem, and at 6 months, and a few at 12 months plus. It does vary between vets.
