Junior Guinea Pig
Hello everyone recently my 4month ish old piggies have just had their full treatment for ringworm and are looking very cheeky once again now that most of the infection has gone and almost clear only a bit of dryness and flaky skin, I had some very helpful advice for this but now this is almost over and touch wood a million times it wont come back obviously it will as it's so common but I am hoping they will stop getting all this bad luck for a good few months haha I just wanted to ask some more advice on some preventatives that can be used monthly, weekly or during bathing times and leave in solutions on my piggies to lower the chance of them getting skin condition in the future
Also which would be more important to prevent first like would leave in solutions be best for parasitic infection?
Main one I want to know is should I use a shampoo when bathing like an antibacterial one for fungal.parasitic infections and of course I keep the cage clean we figured that the ringworm was actually caused my the guinea pigs from the place where I got them which was unfortunate seeing as I only had them for less than a month -_-'
Maybe any leave in solutions I could apply after bathing or weekly or monthly and whatnot
Also is there any treatment that is good for guinea pigs that offer the same protection from parasitic infections the way we treat dogs and cats with spot on for fleas I did use beaphar when I suspected the piggies had mites before the ringworm and it did clear up a patch that I noticed before the ringworm treatment but I was told this isn't very good for the actual treatment but is it as a preventative?
Sorry rambling but yeah any you can offer any advice also just saying that any treatment I would like to buy over the counter so only stuff like that
