Teenage Guinea Pig
Hello all - my lovely Primrose has developed a large lump just above her right leg in the hip area. It literally just seems to have appeared out of nowhere yesterday. Didn't see anything in the morning, a bit later on I noticed her fur in that area looked a bit fluffed up but it sometimes looks like that when she's been vigorously cleaning herself so I didn't think anything of it. But when they had floor time late yesterday evening it looked like her hip was sticking out, so I investigated and found a big lump. I took her to the vets this morning and she said the best thing to do was have it removed as even if it's benign its in a place which might impact on her mobility. So Primrose is booked in for an operation to have it removed in a week's time next Tuesday; whatever 'it' is as we don't what the lump is. She's fine in herself except she's fed up if being handled and prodded. But about an hour ago I went to give them their tea and the lump has bled. I've rung the vets again an hour ago and e-mailed them some pictures as requested, but they haven't rung me back yet. I'm just worrying about the op and the anaesthetic she'll have, worried as to what the lump is and worried because it's bleeding and how she's going to cope with it for a week if it keeps bleeding and risk of infection and if it will start to hurt her etc etc. Some healing thoughts would be welcome! These are the two pics I've sent to the vet.
