Poor Princess although blind has developed a sticky eye on her "bad" eye.
I call it her bad eye because that is the side of her head that she holds down as though she can see partially from her other eye and holds that side of her head up.

I have been bathing it daily with cooled boiled water but it gets sticky and dries making her eye close up.

I think a trip to the vet is in order, but I was just wondering if anyone has ever bathed gp's eyes in Optrex?

I wouldn't recommend optrex as i don't know what chemicals are in it, may be harmful to piggies (although not sure), i would carry on with the boiled water, that sounds the best option.

She will definately need a trip to the vet as it may be conjunctivitis. Have you checked the eye to make sure there is nothing stuck in it, like hay? Wash the eye out completely with the water to check there is nothing stuck behind the eye. If you have a syringe handy that will be the best way to get it into the eye.

I have used Optrex on sore eyes and it cleared them up. Fucithalmic (sp?) is also good which you get from the vet.
