But is it better to use a bowl or not?

I used to use a bowl but Rosie would just use it to wee in ::) Now I just leave a handful of the floor of the cage
 
Hi Gem, I have a little Rosie as well! :)
I use two ceramic bowls for each cage. One for greens and the other for the dry mix. I only put hay on the floor if I don't use the mager. I can honestly say that I never had any of mine weeing on the bowl! ;D I can only think that she is trying to mark it? ;D
 
some of mine have moments and poop in their food bowls ;D
as long as they get clean fresh food and its not too mucky you should be ok
 
Honkalula uses one of their bowls for pooping in, my new piggie Pig-Pog will only poo next to her bowl and no where else.
 
Mine have a ceramic bowl and when it's empty they poo in it in protest ;D
 
Miss C is very clean and uses a bowl for all her poops and I think she wees in it too but don't know ::) someone does ::)
