Hi, a week ago one of my pigs started breatthing strangely, I immediately looked here for possible cause and when I saw it could be a UTI, I took her to the vet. The vet confirmed it was a mild UTI and put her on a course of Baytril. A few days in, the noises stopped and thankfully she now seems back to normal.

I have only gotten round to getting a probiotic today, Pro-C, and I'm a bit unsure how to give it. Should I put it in her water or on her food?

Thanks for any advice!

Kari

If you wash the veg first, drain fully, then sprinkle the probiotic on and give it a good mix it dissolves on the watery veg and means shes getting it all and cant spit out etc :)

Pro-C tends to be well liked by piggies if I recall correctly. Glad to hear they are on the mend.

Another great Pro-biotic if ever you have none in is Poo-Soup. It is the poo of a healthy piggy mushed up with a tiny bit of water and syringed to the poorly piggy, Pigs love it although they do have brown mouths after :))
