Probiotics?

Hi,
My girl Betty is on Doxycycline for a lung infection for 10 days. At the moment her appetite seems absolutely fine but she’s getting older so I don’t want her to get any diarrhoea/gut problems. Should I be using a probiotic in conjunction with the antibiotics to protect the good bacteria in her gut? If so what product is available in the UK?

Yes it would be a good idea - Doxy is a strong antibiotic and one known to cause decrease in appetite.
I would recommend Fibreplex.
If she has a healthy companion, then live microbiome transfer (poop soup) can also be used

Make sure you don’t give a probiotic at the same time as an antibiotic dose - leave 1-2 hour gap

Make sure you are weighing her daily so you can monitor hay intake very closely
