She wants to put up one of those sonar cat deterrents. Our gardens are tiny, and they have such a big range, this is going to make ilfe hell for the guineas, isn't it? Does anyone know if thre is one that just puts off cats I could suggest to her - as most of them say they are for rodents too. Am very worried. I invited her in to meet the gang, she just said she couldn't stand rodents, couldn't even go near her granddaughters' hamsters. Stupid cow.

>:D >:D :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:
OK you're gonna have to see if the council can get involved explain about the boys :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: speak to the vets ask their advice :)

Lovely to see you posting darling :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

ohhh sorry to hear that - thats all you need - extra stress when you've just moved in and after your furniture fiasco!

Not sure how badly they affects guineas - but its bound to in some way... I know they sell some on amazon - cos we were thinking of getting one for our front lawn - you could see what their reviews are like but dont think there is anything saying specifically 'doesnt harm piggies ears!' ;D

Agree with Glynis - good to see you on here again!

nothing worse than neighbours who interfere our neighbour put a black cat thing in there garden to stop ours using theres as a toilet but he still does they just laugh at him now cant believe how facey he is. :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

Don't know about the guineas, but my kids can hear the mother in laws. They say it's annoying, apparantly it beeps every so often.

I am taking the boys for an ivomec at our new vet on Wednesday so I will speak to them then.

Bloody neighbours, she told me she's already fallen out with the guy on the other side ::)

she sounds like a rite stuck up so and so :tickedoff:
I'm really lucky my neighbours r ok they keep waiting to see what other animals i mite bring in ^-^

Can they do that? I mean its not like the guineas can run away from the discomfort, as they are confined in a run or hutch...

I would def speak with the neighbour and the vet to find some alternatives, and maybe even the council to see if she can to something that will directly affect your animals :-\

Stupid cow indeed....

Is she plump and red faced? I hope she is ;D ;D

Oh the silly old bat! :tickedoff: :tickedoff:

I really don't get it. When you lived in a confined ish area you can't just bowl on ahead and do whatever you like without considering your neighbours >:(

(p.s. also glad to hear she's fat and sour faced! only seems right ;D)

Hi there i was thinking about getting one of those as i have a few mice, i phoned up a manufacturer and asked if there was one i could use that would be safe for piggies and rabbits they said NO it wasnt so much the rabbit the problem it was my piggies as they are rodents but do check with others as you never know there mite be one out there but that firm didnt sell it you never know good luck anyway theres nothin worse than falling out with your neighbours :smitten: :smitten: Emma x

There is a special product that is lions dung, i think it is called ROAR, which keeps cats away, it is just dry pellets that you you soak and it releases an ordure humans can't smell, It is extremely good, maybe you could suggest that to her, and it is environmental friendly,

I hope you get this sorted, situations between neighbours is awful when it turns bad.

I spoke to the RSPCA today. I explained there was another guinea over the road and a dog on the other side of this woman. They said they couldn't do anything until she installed it, but that it would certainly be damaging for the boys, and that even some people can be affected.

Last night I had a terrible dream all my boys died. I much prefer them to be at my parents' until I know it is safe here. If she does get it I will have to move again.

What a selfish old bag. Sounds like she is going to cause trouble Lucinda - neighbours from hell and all that

Id seriously think about moving again before u get too settled

those plug in ones drive me scatts as i can hear them and no they are not very nice, will she just not talk about it at all,, what about a partner could you appeal to him/her

its only a suggestion but you could start running around screaming when its switched on!
surely this would be classed as a nuisance and all that keep up the pressure on her she's the bad neighbour and get the local press involved go for maximum embaressment
good luck

Contact your council, there is only so much noise people can make in the daytime!

I am so steamed! I love cats and the thought of someone using a device to scare them away burns me. I have two of my own and I feed the strays in my neighborhood. Then on top of that this device can cause harm to precious little guinea pigs ears. ugh! They need to make a device to run her away..maybe a salad, treadmill or a diet shake perhaps. :D 98)

You could mention that there have been concerns about the waves or whatever it uses being harmful to people, new research etc.

(well there might have been!). Otherwise just pinch it (or find some cat poo and put it near it so she realises it's not working).

Hope everything going well for you. How is the course going Lucinda? It's always horrible when you start something new.

How are things have you spoken to her again yet, what about enviromental health, you could complain to them about the nosie driving you mad
