Spice has been terrorizing Eowyn who screams in submission and avoids her reach the past 3-4 days slice has decided to target her.

The other two stay out of it except Arwen who acts like she’s trying to protect eowyn from the diva Spice.

Is spice in season?
A strong season can cause this kind of change in behaviour.

There are other potential reasons such as a brewing illness, attempted hierarchy takeover etc

I thought about that and there’s no rumble strutting no mounting. She ignores the other 2 and targets the one only chasing her while she screams in submission. While I’m no expert I want to say she’s not in season since she us just bullying the one?

It could depend where she is in the hierarchy - if she is low down she isn’t going to target anybody above her.

If you suspect they’ve had a fall out and bullying is occurring then the best thing would be to watch the weight and behaviour of eowyn.
If she is actually being bullied and it continues then it may sadly be that the herd needs to be split in two.

How old is spice?

Bonds In Trouble

She is almost 2. Born July 2022. She’s the youngest.9854E07B-7AEC-40A3-BAB5-9FB3733E9E11.webp

That was when I first got her. Innocent little thing now she’s harassing and trying attack her elder.

I have reservations about splitting them as the other 2 are ok with eowyn and most part each other.

Would keeping the 3 together and getting spice a new cage mate be an alternative?

I have no experience with sows so no advice, just wanted to say that your piggies are gorgeous 😍

There is going to be a reason for the change in behaviour, you ‘just’ need to find it!
I can’t say whether it’s medical (whether with eowyn or spice herself) or whether she is just trying to become higher in the hierarchy.

It’s an option if you can manage 5 piggies but don’t forget the new friend had to be compatible with her.

nothing medically wrong with Eowyn. I ended up removing her because spice and and suddenly Arwen stated both going after her and she hid from them all the time or cried if any of the 3 came near her. Then for the past month, peace, quietness, respect. Super quiet actually since removing eowyn. She has been on her own 4 weeks I did just get her a new mate and she’s come to life in a pair. She’s sleeping next to her, grooming her, they are in a split 12x2. Original trio one side; her and the new baby on the other.
