Problems

I went to my local pet/garden centre & they had 2 boars there, they have had them in there since January. They come out for a play daily in a 2ftx2ft run & they sleep in a cage just as big if not smaller. My heart goes out for they.
The only thing I can think of is buy them they are £50, which I think is a bit much. Have them neutered & after 7 weeks put them in with my girls. Our buy them & see if the local rescue can take them in. Which I know is a cheek. Or leave them where they are, I feel awful about leaving them. I would think they would not be easy to make loving pets. The staff are supposed to handle them often. Yea right
Apparently the staff handle them regularly. Another yea right.
Anyone got any ideas?

I'm sure you want them really...if you have the room.

The problem is, if you get them, more will appear in their place. I found that out when rescuing hamsters, which is heartbreaking.

There are always animals in need of rescuing and rehoming, and it is so sad because I really want them all.

You have to do what you want to do.Maybe they could live as a pair in a decent cage.My two boys are in a 154 cage in the room with my girls and no problems so far.I do make sure I don't transfer girl smell from the herd to them and they have their own toys, tunnels, fleece etc.I have bought from pet shops when I have come across lone girls or lone girls in with rabbits.It's your choice.

I feel you pain - I really do.
But the problem is that as soon as you buy them, the pet shop will get more to take their place.
Basically if you buy them you are creating a demand, so the pet shop will supply.
Unless they are being neglected or kept in very poor conditions, they may actually have a better life there then the home they eventually end up in.
It's a catch 22 situation, but as long as pet shops and garden centers continue to make money by selling live animals, then they will continue to do it.
