local farm vet has just been round checking on the cows due to give birth in the field next to barney, so while he was passing i asked him about the problem the guineapigs are having with lice/mites

he has advised something called zerox-p for them which i can go pick up from the practice or most agriculture shops. i knew i recognised the name and after searching have found it online....its the same stuff i used on the mini-pigs for bugs last year.

vet has 'assured' me its safe for kleinevee en huisdieren (small animals and house pets)

but after searching online for ingriedients it is made from a basis of pyrethrum. (ingrediants 0,2% pyrethrinen and 2% piperonyl butoxide) is that not deadly to guineapigs?

i have some lice away drops and shampoo on order but they will take a few days to get here....i think id be better off playing it safe and waiting for the other stuff to come in the post than use this?

I'm gonna wait after looking futher onine ther is reports of people using it on gps but they are not all good!
