After admitting i couldnt cope with so many piggies i made the heartbreaking decision to rehome 3 of my 8 piggies leaving me with 5 ( technically 2 are my oh's but i care for them ) I said to myself if i couldnt cope and improve the living situations with the remaining i would rehome more - currently I'm managing great ive not stopped for the past 2weeks as soon as i put my little girl down for a nap I'm straight outside painting cleaning cuddling you name it !

The situation before was a 5ft hutch block with 1 single piggy in the top, my trio ( rehomed ) in the middle and the bun in the bottom then i had a 3ft triple with 1 piggy in one and another piggy in another with a spare at the bottom . And a 4ft double with 1 boy in each level. Hectic ! All in my 8x6 shed !

So first job was repairing the buns old hutch in the garden - she kicked the floor through so thats y she ended up in the shed. So after a new 3/4 inch thick plywood floor that was her sorted. We got rained off last week but shes having a perminant run fixed on a.s.a.p so will put pics of that up when done.

Next job was put the remaining piggy out of the 5ft hutch block into the spare 3ft for the week and scrub and paint the 5ft block. 4 coats later :x it looks lovely now the 3 piggies out of the 3ft hutch block are in the 5ft hutch block. The 3ft hutch block is stood empty in the garden - thank god !

Ive painted all the inside in the shed and stuck a few stickers up too lol

The next job is to paint my 4ft double and put that back in the shed ( altho the boys r loving it being in the garden cs they always get grass wen i take my little girl out lol

Although thats on hold now because ive got a little stray bunny coming to have a short stay til i can get him a home x) ( i made a thread in G/C explaining why )

l was extremely sad to see my trio go i know theyv gone to great rescue & will get the time and care they need. It felt right and now i know why. It has enabled me to improve my situation and now when i go outside i can say i am doing my very best for them and they have a great quality of life. Something i couldnt before when it was overcrowded - and i will admit i felt guilty and ashamed of how i kept them.

So heres a few piccies of my shed and the piggies in there . If you click on them itl make them bigger x

Oh and by the way they were cleaned out 3 days ago - i hate seeing other peoples pics of there piggies with their cages intact ( no mess at all lol )

Shed looks amazing! Lucky gorgeous piggie x)

Lovely shed and beautiful piggies. It must have been a very hard decision to make but it sounds like it was for the best for your piggies and that's what matters the most :)

Fantastic ! You've been busy. I'm sure you've done the right thing. Its better to have 5 well cared for piggies than trying to have more than you can cope with and feeling guilty.
I'm sure they are gonna love their new set up :)
Lovely daughter :)
