Proud to introduce Rusty and Rugrat

The boys have been with us since the 27th March and quickly snuggled their way into our hearts 😍. Rusty date of birth 8/5/2018 and Rugrat with his amazing hair was born 29/7/2023 they are both just adorable. Rusty is the boss I20250423_175943.webpIMG-20250503-WA0003.webp guess he's entitled to that given his age and Rugrat is very timid but they both love a snuggle 💕

What a gorgeous pair! And how great that you can give Rusty such a happy retirement with the handsomest of mates.

Hi Wiebke I admit I was a little apprehensive about his age and the inevitable but we are overjoyed to have him and take your advice to make each day as wonderful as it can be 🥰💕💙

You will find that the time with Rugrat will feel longer than it actually is because you live it consciously and that the happiness that RR experiences can rekindle his zest for life and give him another boost to live longer.

I have found that older piggies bring something special, very enriching into your life because they truly appreciate your good care and love, they know who they are and no longer have anything to prove and you are spending the time with them more consciously because it is more limited. However, your oldies can still pack a lifetime's worth of it into a surprisingly short time! ❤️

You are doing absolutely the right thing.

That is so true! Thea perked up no end with Misty and Bramble turned up as neighbours and when they were finally successfully bonded after a year (first time for unsuccessful) she had a new zest for life. I'm sure that is why she is now still with us at nearly 8 and a half.

It took my depressed 7 years old peru diva Calli (last standing piggy from a shift working nurse) and my own then 6 years old diva Tegan ten months and three bonding attempts after Calli came here for company but she and Tegan definitely shared a spark and regular interaction through the bars and became best of friends once they had both got over their diva dramas during bonding; so much so that Calli lived to celebrate her 9th birthday.
Tegan got to finding Calli's occasional rumble-strutting dominance fits more amusing than anything else since Calli was by then a tiny bag of bones with even more attitude than her long peru hair - but then, my rebel baby Tegan shared both the same outlook and long hair! :D

Such a lovely post - we wouldn't trust them with anyone else but you and Tyler @CTWC ❤️

Here is Rugrat on the left after a haircut - just to prove he does actually have a face under there 😅
Next to him is his brother Edgar who unfortunately passed away. Hence Rusty met Rugrat!
