Puffed up Piggie!

Happy New Year everyone!

I have noticed that one of my piggies seems to puff herself up when she is eating......is this normal? I have 2 sows - the other one (Peanut) doesn't seem to do it, but Butter sits by her food bowl and puffs up once she starts eating. Is this a defence thing to make herself look bigger? She is perfectly well and once she had finished eating she goes back to her usual size!

Yes it’s normal for them to puff up when eating. My four do it, though one of the sows doesn’t look particularly bigger. She’s always been of a smaller stature. Though I wonder if it’s because her cage mate is more of a...hair ball...

Hahah.....thats good to know it's normal, thankyou Its amazing how fluffy she gets when she puffs up......looks like a completely different piggie lol

Lucy was always my puffy pig.
All of them have done it to a certain extent, but Lucy was the best at it.
I think it is totally normal.
