I just noticed tonight (while taking pigtures) that someone (Piggle I imagine) has left a little bite mark on Piggle's nose and top lip. I am tempted to not be worried as Puggle is the boss piggy and both girls are in season and when Puggle is in season she starts that chin-up chin-up chin-up then occasionally lunge dominance battle thing. Also Piggle doesnt see too well out of her pink eye so she might have accidentally made contact while pretending to lunge (she lunges at carrots and totally misses sometimes too). All the piggies seem chilled out except when the ladies put on a bit of a deliberate floor show for Theo in the playpen in the afternoon once the snacks have run out... am I right to not worry and assume Puggle started it/finished it and Piggle has bad eyesight? There are literally only one or two occasions a month (when someone or both of them are in season) when I have to use my teacher voice and a cardboard divider and some diversionary snacks to calm the girls down... I'd hate this to escalate without me noticing while worrying about Theo's operation though!

You are right not to worry. If it had been serious, you would notice it from their behaviour.

Thanks Wiebke! I was all worried about Theo's operation then I saw Puggle had a little bite on her nose and lip and I didnt know whether to worry about that too. She is still boss piggy and chief wife-to-be and she has been acting like a bit of a diva lately peeing on everyone then going off to sulk in the best hidey place so hopefully its all ok :)

Any change in the hierarchy results in a dominance renewal to settle the new hierarchy.

Well Piggle used to be biggest but Puggle has piled on weight and become the fattest piggy and the chief wife-in-waiting with the strongest season since we got Theo :) Piggle just seems a bit confused by it all but hopefully they will sort everything out. If they dont we will consider getting Piggle a new friend of her own and keeping them as pairs...
