Purring...

I hear a sort of purring noise from my girls, what does this mean, or doesn't it mean anything. First i thought it was an *i'm angry* sound as they did it as i walked past the cage, but i just heard it and i'm no where near the cage ?

It depends, my boys do it to eachother sometimes when they're annoyed but when Cookie is being smoothed he'll purr and vibrate, that means they're happy

Cool. Thanks, this is all very exciting to me, i've only had them two days and i get quite giddy at everything they do!

Same with mine I was on edge with them for ages! Now they don't have to go back to the vets I can relax! Usually now if they purr at eachother I just ignore them and let them get on with it as they don't fight

Minky does it sometimes when I stroke her & I can't work out if she's pleased or displeased.

When my piggie purr at each other that means they are uncomfortable (when a piggie returns from lap-time) or just annoyed, while when on my lap that means they're happy

My piggy purrs in the rare occassions he sits still in his fleece bed

Brodie will purr when I put his favourite food in the cage, and then he grunts as he's eating it - lovely to hear him
