putting them back together

hi, as some of you probably know i have a boar who is being treated for an abscess...he has been away from home and his 2 sisters for 8 days now,and will probably be away another week at least as the abscess is proving tricky to cure.
I'm going to see him on thursday and have thought about taking them so they can see each other again but,i know the toxins in the pus can be fatal to the girls and that the stressful journey (1hr +) wouldnt be good for the girls either.
should i take the girls for a supervised visit ?
what will happen when they can be put back together as a unit again?
will i need to re bond them? they seem to be missing him..(they live indoors)
I'm not sure whats best for all..i feel really bad for not being able to visit him for the 8 past days due to work and the distance.we all miss him like crazy but know his in the best hands...
what should i do?

Personally, I would wait until the boar is fully healed and cured before reintroducing. As you said, the hour long journey will probably cause unnessessary stress, not to mention the reintroduction and then seperation you would give them even more stress.

Not sure what would happen about the re-establishing them as a unit, but I presume it would involve just treating it like introducing piggies for the first time.

I have never had a situation like this but I agree with what has been said. The travelling would probably stress your piggies out. Maybe when your boar is fully healed you could put a divide between them for a couple of days so they know they are there, and then maybe put them together for an hour or so and see how they get on. Like I said I don't have any experience of this so hopefully someone else can help. Hope your boar is better soon.

he did! he went to chris n titch in hastings..they ADORE guineas and will do anything for them.
they run a clinic for them from home, they did a health check for all 3 guineas ,and wormed them and it came to .....£20!
hes staying there as he needs his abscess drained and treated daily ..
we thought it was best that he stay there as we live an hr away and it would be unfair for him to travel every day. ive treated a bun with an abscess, but guineas dont have capsules so you have to know more about what your doing..we are seeing him later for a cuddle visit and will be surrogate cuddlers for the others they have there! c n t even cuddle them for us! it is costing £1 a night for him to stay! and they have lovely hutches/ indoor cages to stay in (indoors) plenty of lovely hay,greens etc.
they have a fridge thats full of guineas greens and a tiny fridge for themselves! they are really lovely people..

I would agree and wait until he is fully healed, then class it as the first introduction again! If you take them to see him, it'll be another introduction and the girls *could* pick up some nasty bug at the vets. It's not worth the risk. x

Just take it easy and try the into's in a neutral area and see how it goes xxxxxxx
