Hi all not an emergency don't worry! But let's just say lil Bellamy turned out to be quite a pricey young piggy lol- £110 in total! After a vet visit where they confirmed he had lice. *Pigmum facepalms* now I didn't see them when I first picked him up or even the day after so whether they were there when I got him I don't know, but as soon as I saw them I took him to the vet. They gave both him and Steve a spot on (bothboys had two doses- one to go!) .

My query is, can I bath them? Bellamy in particular because of his long hair seems a little uncomfortable and I can see I think dead skin in his fur. Id like to bath him (I can't see lice but I can see some eggs). He had the most recent spot on the 4th so I assume it's soaked in. So is a bath ok?

Hi! You you need to leave 48 hours between any application on the skin, whether that is spot-on or a bath to allow full absorption of any active ingredients. Please make sure that you treat all guinea pigs in contact and that you treat the full 3 rounds of application at the product specific interval.
If you wish, you can order the Gorgeous Guineas 'Lice and Easy' shampoo to use in combination, especially when you are dealing with a resistant string of lice. Either of them alone may not be enough in that case.
Lice n Easy Shampoo 150ml

If you see any eggs fixed to hairs, you may be dealing with hay mites unless you have clearly seen pale lice. The safest way of getting rid of eggs fixed to hairs is a short haircut; drastic, but the hair will grow back pretty quickly and the removed eggs won't hatch. ;)

Ah ok thanks so much for your help yeah the lice I saw were very pale and white and the vet confirmed them for me. Both are itching a lot less since the two spot ons so I'm hoping by the third they'll be lice free but we'll see. I do have some piggy shampoo handy so I'm glad it's okay to bath. And yes I reckon I will trim those bits- luckily it just seems the eggs are near his butt.

Some up to date pigtures of my little boys
