This has probably been asked umpteen times, but how much hay do you guys feed your piggies?

I've tried doing some research and all the findings are different...

I usually give my piggies a large handful (to eat) first thing in the morning, and last thing at night, (Pellets and fruit/veg inbetween)...

Is this alright for them? Or am I not giving them enough hay? <3

Thank you in advance, guys!

<3~ xx

I always thought that I gave them way too much hay, sometimes. :S They never go without food, but I was thinking to myself "should they really eat this much hay?", which I then thought to give them enough for a few hours in the morning, then again at night. :S

But thank you again! I now know that I was probably doing it right the first time! :))

Unlimited hay and water and the rest is a bonus i think, even with the pellets.

That is what i have been advised by numerous vets, and from what i have read on the forum.

Thank you for your advice! :) At least I know now so I don't keep feeding them wrong! rolleyes

I think unlimited water is always a given! Haha! I always make sure they get fresh water everyday. <3

Well I have a 4x4 hay loft which is always full of hay so I definitely don't think there is such a thing as too much hay for a piggie!

My boys have a large hay tray stuffed full of hay, a plant pot filled with hay....annnd a hay rack with hay...oh and a tunnel log stuffed with hay, the hay tray and platpot need changing daily as Harvey likes to sit in his plant pot and Artie in the hay tray :) I think more is always best :)
