My two boars are free-range in an almost 6'x4' lean-to shed on the back of the garage. It is heated by a 2ft tubular heater in there which they huddle under but in general most of the time the shed has been about 5 degrees.

The heater is attached to an outside panel of the shed which I've thought about insulating because it's always cold to the touch. I'm thinking of using that silver covered bubble wrap (like hutch covers are made out of).

Is that the best stuff to use for insulating a shed wall? Do I need to cover it with a bit of ply, or can I trust that the pigs will leave it alone and won't nibble it?

Our 12 x 8 shed is fully insulated by that silver foil insulation which I think we got from Wickes it's fairly cheap to buy too, we ply lined the shed too, we started the shed just before the scorching temperatures but worked through them, in the height of summer the shed became lovely and cool when we'd finished insulating, it made a massive difference. It has also kept the kids (guinea pigs) warm this winter and we have got a 4ft tubular heater in there too. I would ply line it as I don't think guinea pigs can resist the urge to stay away and not chew it.
