I've kept guineas for a number of years, In my time I've had a couple of very young ones. Their growth was always very rapid and noticeable. I recently acquired 3 skinnies (about 12 weeks) at the end of Oct but haven't really noticed much change in their size at all, they've filled out a little bit but not really grown, if that makes sense. I know I should of weighed them to start with. Will be starting that this weekend. Any thoughts? x

@Midge&Panda Skinnies have a higher metabolic rate than hairy guineas. So require more food and poop a lot more too. They do look smaller than haired piggies even though they can weigh the same. If you imagine a person taking off a fur coat, they look a lot thinner. Our Pinky (rip) was a bit of a porker at well over 1000g.

I have a skinny pig that is about 6 months old, she has gained 35g in a month which is a lot slower growth than the other young piggies I have had. She eats and poops constantly like all skinnies do, so I know she is doing her best to grow! Can we see pictures of your skinnies?

Your piggies are gorgeous.

My two skinnies don't look as big as my haired piggies but i think this is probably just because they don't have hair. At 15 months old my sow Dora weighs just over 1kg and my boar Ginger over 1.1kg. They eat almost as much as my three haired piggies do combined and poop at least as much!
