Hello all, I have read tons of threads, so here are my questions... Pairing, I'm in the process of pairing my blind almost 7 year old boar, any advice for pairing a senior piggy? Any new up to date info on treating bumblefoot and a pictured guide to wrapping? I have read a lot of old articles on colloidal silver, the previous general consensus is that it's I'll advised, any new news on that? We have one of the best exotic vets in the bay area, California, so of course he is always consulted on all levels.
Thanks soo much

Sorry I don’t have any experience of pairing or bumble foot. I’m sure a more experienced member will be along soon x best of luck

I'm moving your post to the H & I section as it relates to Bumblefoot. I have no experience sadly so can't help.

Hi!
I would strongly recommend to please see your expert vet over the bumblefoot; he will be able to give you the best advice depending on the severity.

Bonding blind piggies is not any different to sighted piggies - give them time in a divided or cage if possible so they can meet and get to know other through the grids. The rest is down to personality compatibility. You can mix sighted and blind piggies.

My Tegyd became Taffy's friend for life when Taffy, who by that time was nearly blind with quickly evolving cataracts went up to Tegyd and gently licked her badly affected cataract eye. Because Tegyd struggled with the big group and Taffy was on the brink of losing her standing as second in command in the sow hierarchy, I split them up; they became the founding piggies of my dedicated cataract group of rather formidable personalities who very much bonded over their shared disability.

I have also paired up several 5-7 year old piggies. Generally dominance is much less strong if they are paired up with another mature piggy. From about 4 years old the testosterone in boars is starting to fizzle out and they mellow and become a lot more sociable - more like sows, in fact. ;)
