I've two piggies who've failed to bond. Plan A is piggie dating to find them both friends but just in case (I had a previous piggie who refused all bonding attempts)...Plan B is to house them together in the same cage with a divide.

I'm looking at the Ferplast Plaza 140 and saw that it comes in two parts, one part 100cm, the other 40cm. I was wondering if it's possible to join two of the 'main' sections together so both piggies have around 100cm.

And if anyone has the 160, is the design similar? If so... do you know how big each section is?

I think it is possible to join them as I asked a question recently about expanding these cages and someone said they've got a 200cm cage.Ive got the 160cm one and it's 120cm with an extra 40cm that joins on.

I think they had a 120 with two 40cm extensions attatched. I don’t think they’d joined the actual main cages together

That's interesting as I've been searching tinternet tonight to find an extra 40cm extension to add to my 160, but couldn't see one anywhere - although I'm convinced I've seen a picture of one somewhere. If only I could remember.

Amazon normally have the extension but it’s out of stock, zooplus have a house extension that’s 40cm but wooden house not cage.

I’ve admitted defeat and bought a ferplast 100cm cage to join onto my plaza 160 (will probably end up an L shape) which was actually cheaper than the extension.

What makes you not recommend stacking them?

The bottom cage tends to start bowing with the weight. They'd be fine if they were on large shelves but I don't find they last long just on top of eachother (even with wooden reinforcements which you can see on mine) x

These are my ferplast 180's, they connect very well and you can put two of each cage together if you want in any way. I DO NOT reccommend stacking them though, mine are no longer stacked.

Sorry I know this is an old post, but wonder if you can help. We have a plaza 160 cm and also a 140 cm plaza. We are looking to join the two cages together like yours if we can.
This is what we have to play with
1 x 120 cm main cage + 40 cm end piece
1 x 100 cm main cage + 40 cm end piece

I am right in thinking you have a main cage fastened to a 40 cm end piece which is then fastened to another 40 cm end piece?
We are struggling atm and want Ted, Posh and Ginger to have as much space as possible. We don’t mind loosing the 100 cm main cage as this would do as a hospital cage if needed.
Really interested with yours. We tried to do an L shape design but that didn’t quite work. Hope you can give us some advice x

Yes we had either a 100 or 120 with one or two 40cm ones attached to it if that helps. You could put the 100cm to the 120cm to make a 220, or do either the 100cm with the two 40cm's and then the 120, just depends on how big you want it :)

Aw, that’s really helpful, thank you. I think we will take all cages to bits and see what we can fit into the space. I will post a photo once we get Ted better and in with the girlies x

I looked into this when wanting to expand our ferplast 160. You should be able to join both yours together making a 300 cage in total if you wanted or any combination of the individual parts. I found a picture online of someone who had joined 2 complete cages together but can’t find it now 🙈

Yes that’s what we thought originally but the main part of the cage hasn’t got that overlap like the 40 cm bit so I’m wondering how to join the two 100 cm and 120 cm. will probably make more sense if we take everything to bits and then re build

If you have the 120 then the 40 then 100 would that work?
I think that might not fit in the limited space we have, but will have a look. The problem is the 40 cm only has the attachment bit on one end of it, which is such a shame

Saw this online so thought the attachment bits were on both sides 🙈 I’ve got a normal 100cm cage that I’m going to link to mine with stick bridge (piggies will get their extension when we get ours 😂). Would that maybe work? Not as good for zoomies but my boys are lazy so that’s not really an issue for them 🙈

yes, we can make a 120 x 40 x 40 cm parts so we definitely can do this. The only thing I’m not keen on is the little 1” walls between each segment but we can do this layout to get a 200 cm cage x

I don’t think you can? You can join a 40 cm to a main base and another 40 cm to the other end. That’s what we did and then added the 100 cm 8n an L shape

I did wonder thanks that is useful- I was hoping tobmaybe join the 100cm base to the 130 cm base instead of an extention but may not be possible then!

No I think we tried that, that was our original thoughts

Yes, they are brilliant cages but could be even better if you could join them all together easily, they are missing a trick there

Anyone know what the dimensions would be with the 140 plus two extensions? As should be 220 but the actual measurements of the 140 is 142cm so wondering whether this will make it 224 or even 226- anyone have experience with this?
