Question on impacted rectum

The following page (see below) is probably one of the best available to explain this problem. Impaction is not unknown among sows, but I've never come across it Lucinda.
Vedra once told me that she considered it to be more of a result of over active glands within the perineal sac, rather than lax anal muscles.
