So I've come back today for the boys daily visit, and Blitzen is chattering his teeth a fair bit. They're both eating and drinking fine and it's not an angry chatter...he's actually being more friendly than usual and has let me hand feed him his favourite bits of hay. It's almost like...you know when your teeth chatter when you're cold? That's what it looks and sounds like, but I don't know if guinea pigs can actually do that.

I've got the heating on now because it is kind of cold in here, probably because I'm not here full time, but I'm just wondering if anyone had any ideas about it.

I haven't known my pigs to chatter their teeth when cold, only when annoyed or occasionally if in pain. Could they have been asking for food? my Tim chatters at me if I am too slow or he disapproves of what I have given him.

Hmm he might have been, although he was a tad early for dinner time. Blitzen's not normally one to ask for food or to come looking for any, so this is entirely new territory for me with him heh. I've just given him and Comet a couple of blackberries to see how they like them and they're both munching down fine, so I'm pretty sure it's not his teeth, and it's definitely not a warning sign, which at least rules two major problems out.

I have noticed he needs his claws clipped rather desperately though, I'm going to have to get him booked in to get those done soon. I wonder if that's what's annoying him.

I'm trying to get used to this with Willow. She's been here two weeks but learnt straight away how to tell when veggies are coming. I'm not on a strict routine so its not a time of day/night thing but when she knows I have the bowl full and I'm not quick enough to place it down she gets teeth chattery at me :))

Jon Snow does it to me every morning. According to him I have a very set time limit on how long I have to sweep their cage on a morning and then feed them. He's dance and bop around the cage for a few minutes, then it's teeth chattering time. He's an impatient little monster.

Thanks guys, I feel slightly more relaxed about him chattering like that now. He's been so aloof up until recently that I'm really not used to him being interactive like this. It's nice to see, but man it's confusing at the same time.

My Bella chatters at me when I give Cissy a treat of something before her, she gets very annoyed at me haha. She must learn because she's #2 piggy so get over it missy!
